Remember those days in high school when a wedge was a bad thing?
When the clog sat alongside the tulip as part of your Year 7 cultural assignment on the delights of Holland?
When a platform was that slightly elevated area where you were forced to debate on topics that fell outside your jurisdiction of concern?
Los Angeles based footwear brand Jeffrey Campbell make the clog/platform/wedge the way they were meant to be and throw in some serious arty shiz to “boot”.
In a nice piece of alliteration, JC describe themselves as a small family owned fashion forward footwear label” from Los Angeles, with an “eye for detail” and focus on concept and design.
From the fun and kitschy patent flat-form Suebee, or gingham wedge Mariel;Groovie; to the highly structured Skate or Benched platforms which feature wooden heels with crazy architectural design, JC inject a sense of play into their designs. or the psychedelic multicoloured bubble platform
The LitaJC’s famous high heel platform ankle boot – is pavement-pounding perfection. With a 5” heel and a kick ass platform, the Lita is strong and classic in suede or leather... But it also comes in crushed velvet, paint splatter, glitter, colour block, tapestry, basket weave – the list goes on.
It’s as though the head designer gave the basic Lita shoe design to a five year old with some glitter pens, paints and fabrics and just said “Ok go!” The result is a smorgasbord of shoes which are begging to be taken out for a night on the town.
